Med Cezir Hotel

If you go to Istanbul, we think this is a perfect place to stay. It is located between two of the main Mosques, it has a homely atmosphere, and it is not expensive. One of the things which impressed us more was the personal kindness. We booked due to personal recommendation and with a phone call (!! that's trust, old style). The place is little, simple, and maintained with care and love. After climbing the narrow staircase, we found that our room in the fourth floor was had really an impressing view, directly on the Blue Mosque. The next morning we had a typical breakfast looking at the Hagia Sofia, also aprox 300m away. As breakfastlover I learned a for me new option of elements for breakfast :) The next days most of our points of interest were just a stroll away. The manager, Azat, was absolutely kind and attentive. The last day we had problems to get in time to the train station for our night train to Sophia-Bucharest. He ordered a taxi, but we could not pay it with card and had not enough cash. So he personally ran with us to the tram, and even completed the ticket so we could take it! We are grateful that he helped us to continue our travel, for the kindness of all the team of the hotel, and happy to enjoy that cosy place. We absolutely wish to come back to Istanbul, and this hotel is one of the reasons. We found, although our reduced budget, the perfect place to stay in this fascinating city, and we certainly recommend it from heart.

The hotel is located at the city center. Room is very clean. Hotel staffs is very kind, everytime we met them, they looked and met smiling face. I like kahvalti at the hotel, it is very delicious. Special thank to Erol bey for such a kind services.

It’s in Sultanahmet, literally about 50m away from the square where Hagia Sophia n Blue Mosque are located and in the more quiet and better area. Topkapi palace is just around the corner, and Cistern is across Sophia. It’s IN the center of the top attractions in Istanbul. They have decent breakfast (it’s great the first day, then the novelty fade away since it’s exacly the same plate everyday). The uptairs terrace has Hagia Sophia view. It’s awesome. The room is in decent condition, clean and pretty spacious. AC in our room has only 1 setting. It says 16 degree C, but I think it’s more like 24, which is ok for most people but could get hot during the day when it’s almost 100 deg F outside. Overall, for budget travelers, this is one of the best deal considering the location. The people there are also nice and kind. Rashid waited for us because we arrived at 2 am from Moscow. Note that it might be hard for older people to climb the narrow and winding stairs. But it’s doable.
