Mr. Bird Hotel

Exceptional stay from start to finish. The property was spotless, perfectly situated, and the team was as sharp and attentive as they come. Huge respect to the Mr. Bird crew for setting the standard—I’ll definitely be locking in my next Istanbul stay right here.

Istanbul old town + sea view + hotel of choice near the station and at the height of word of mouth. Right next to Sirkezi railway station famous for the Orient Express (there is no railway anymore, just get off the escalator in Marmarai, which passes under the Bosphorus).After booking the hotel, we were informed of an airport taxi reservation service, which is somewhat expensive considering we will definitely arrive at the hotel, such as Agoda.

The hotel liked several criteria at once. the location is very good, is within walking distance of the T1 tram line, Marmaris metro station, Eminönü ferry station. Nearby Sultanahmet Square, Gulhane Park, Egyptian Bazaar, Galata Bridge, etc. The staff is very pleasant, friendly, always in touch. As booked hotel wrote to us, specified whether transfer is needed. We made our own way, so we didn't use the hotel shuttle. On the day of arrival in Istanbul, the manager wrote to us that the reservation is valid for us and at the price of the reservation, despite the fact that the booking is not clear why the reservation was cancelled. The hotel is small, very quiet, despite the fact that it is a stone's throw from the station, and tourist street. Lots of cafes, shops, money changers with good rates. It is very convenient that near the Egyptian market, in the morning ran to it, while there is no crowd, you can walk, see, make a choice. Breakfast was really nice. Especially since the tea is not bagged, but real Turkish, the coffee is made. Eggs are necessarily boiled and additionally icing or omelette, cheeses, sausages of several kinds, vegetables, fruit, butter, curd cheese, olives. Baking, bread of several kinds, has a toaster. Simit is mandatory. Rooms have kettle, tea bags, water. Rooms are cleaned every day, slippers, towels are changed every day. Everyone brings water. It was nice to have fruit brought into the room every day. The hotel will definitely recommend to friends. And if we go to Istanbul again this hotel will be considered by us first.
