Villa Pera Suite Hotel - Special Class

The story: I was so excited to give this place a good rating but oh well. I came to the hotel and put my money and passeport in the safe and it got blocked for two days, I went to the reception and asked for help they opened it but it malfunctioned so I could not close it again. I told the guy that I did not want to go around with the money and passport, he said you can leave them it’s safe and we never had issues so I did *this is where I messed up* when I came back late at night 200€ were missing yes not liras and the envelope was opened and closed in a sloppy way. Went to the reception for the footage in front of my room and to be honest they were cooperative but showed it to me briefly and were actually mad that I am even bringing this up. I had to leave because of errands. Went to the change office double checked their footage to see I only gave them 200 euros knowing that the euros never left my hotel. Went back again to the reception night shift guy for him to say I have no idea what you’re talking about. The guy of the morning shift in the reception said we can even send you the video but proceeded to give me the most vague answers: wait for the manager if you want. Okay when will they come? I don’t know. Can you call them please? No they are asleep. Can you keep the footage with the night shift guy so I can see it when I am back ? I have no control. Basically either pretend this never happened or stay in the hotel indefinitely waiting for the manager! Mind you this is a question of safety and I still have to see this manager. I need the money for the rest of my days here and I am extremely stressed and crying and met with nonchalance yet I was nothing short of cicil and polite towards them all. Another very important detail, no one is able to have a full conversation with me in English. Each time I have to explain myself through google translate. Not shaming anyone for anything but you work at a hotel with international guests and cannot communicate with them ??? I am not trying to create a problem, I really need to make sure so my mind can ease up but here we are. Decide for yourself if you want to take the risk of a similar experience. We stayed twice at this property. The first time at the Annexe, about a 2 minute walk from the mail hotel, same lane. It was a 100 year old heritage building with period furniture but we were given a room in the lower basement. We were also served breakfast. The second time we stayed at the main hotel. This was amazing. The rooms, the bathroom and the entire decor of the hotel, a kind of Art Deco. This time there was no breakfast but that did not matter as they serve the same menu everyday. The locality and the people who stay here give you the feel of being in Istanbul. Very helpful. Very polite. The cats and dogs add to the ethos.As do local road side vendor carts serving hot Pilav with grams and chicken. Delicious. The street is lined with eateries. The staff at reception are very helpful, they will go an extra mile for you. If you really want to "feel" Istanbul, stay here. You are a stone's throw from Taksim Square and hence all kinds of public transport and Istikal Cadessi.

The hotel is right, a 5-minute walk from Taksim Square and very close to Independence Avenue. I tried several times to talk to them because we arrived on New Year’s Eve and wanted to have somewhere to eat dinner. They dragged me out and when they arrived the person who knew no English and it was impossible to talk about anything. They took us to a building that has about 50 meters, the large room and bathroom renovated.Once inside we see that the mattress is horrifying and that the sink does not swallow the water (empty if you leave it all night), but the worst was the cold, the air did not heat and above all towards much noise.It is true that the Nordic was good, and slept warm, but when you get up...There is not a hanger to leave the towels.It must be said that they leave towels, slippers and soap and that it is clean everything.It has safe. The airport transfer is very expensive...50€.
