Siesta Beach Apart

A nice cozy hotel on the quiet side of Gumbet. Booked an Apartment room, nice and spacious, clean, stayed 3 nights, no Room service. Rooms are Non A/c you pay 8 UKP per day if you want Air Conditioning. Good food, Vibrant Bar. Reception staff needs to be more informative. On the whole good value for money, Opp the beach. The bust to the City stops opposite the hotel.

Only half the facilities available. Our stay was 12th Oct-26th Oct. This was advertised as a 2 pool & 2 bar hotel, the top bar was never open, about 5th day in they closed the top pool around us, even removing the umbrella we were using! The children's pool is a health hazard with all sorts growing in it. The rubbish in the ground was appalling, no groundsmen to clear up, wouldn't stay if it was free!! As for food, 1 pizza still frozen in middle, 1 omelette still raw in middle

The Siesta Beach has very few good points The Siesta Beach has a few good points. The bathroom was fully tiled and looked clean, the shower was adaquate and plenty of hot water, however the toilet looked like it needed a good clean with bleach. The general decor of the room was good with painted walls. Good side tables and lamps. It was a one bedroom with 2 bed settees that looked dirty and stained. No wi-fi. The bedroom was a good size but the beds were rock hard and like sleeping on concrete slabs. Kitchen had 2 ring stove, kettle and frying pan, no other pans, no microwave and no toaster. They class the toaster as a similar geoge foreman grill (that was dirty). Bedsheets changed once in 12 days but not pillowcases, towels not changed apart from bathmat. On the balcony 2 plastic chairs one of which was broken and a small square brown dirty/stained table. No cleaning done apart from sweep of lounge floor once and empty of kitchen/bathroom bin everyday. Both pools clean but sunbed mats old worn and dirty. Top pool bar had breakfast but was cold and they do not serve coffee. Also they played loud music which was not very relaxing. The beach is very narrow and pebbely, course sand that stained our towels and same worn dirty sunbed mats. Lack of information from tour operator about area of Gumbet/Bodrum. We were surprised that the walk along the seafront to the main shopping streets there was not one bench to sit on to rest unless you went into one of the 2 bars you pass on the way so no good for anyone with walking difficulties. Little dolmus bus will take you into Bodrum very cheap apart from stop at a bar that charged £11.65 for a coffee and a small beer. I know its a basic resort but with a 3 star rating by the tour operator I think it should be down graded to a 2 star. We have stayed in the 3 star Defne residence in Calis/Fethye wich was lovely, great cleaners, beds made free wi-fi in rooms, towels changed every other day, fully equiped kitchen with microwave everything. We decided to try Bodrum this year but wish we had gone back to Calis. We wont be recommending Siesta Beach to anyone. 2 star at best.
