Golmar Beach Hotel

Pros The hotel is located on the edge of the village of Ichmeler, and at night it is relatively quiet and calm, unlike other places where music plays from neighboring restaurants until two in the morning. All rooms face the bay (liman) and have separate balconies. The elevator is functioning properly, although slowly. Restaurant: the dishwashers in the restaurant work promptly. From the end of August to the end of September, there were no flies in the restaurant. The diet is satisfactory, with a minimal assortment of vegetables and fruits, greens, and the occasional appearance of meat and even more often – chicken. Good beer and three types of dry wine, as well as hard liquor (rakis, vodka). Good fresh ayran from the machine. Room cleaning, changing towels and toilet paper is done properly, the Turkmen cleaning ladies speak Russian. In the lobby, a 24-hour coffee and hot water machine for tea is operating, and there is a set of tea bags and paper cups there. Friendly staff at the reception who speak English. The spa has a small free gym with a barbell, bench, set of plates, two exercise bikes, yoga mats, mirrors, and pleasant classical music. Disadvantages The hotel is too liberal with guests, which is expressed by the lack of a dress code in the restaurant (half-naked, in wet clothes, children and adults), the lack of control over noise levels at night, and the failure to take prompt action against violators. Loud music is constantly playing on the hotel grounds and the repertoire is limited. During the visits of Turkish groups to the restaurant, there is noise and clamor, and there are not enough seats at the tables. The hotel is on the 6th floor, and the elevator only fits 3-4 people. The water on the hotel beach, especially near the shore, is quite murky due to the proximity of the marina with many yachts, and from time to time even has visible rainbow spots from oil products. The beach itself is small, with loungers standing close together. The sun sets behind the mountain by 5 PM. There are no tourist trails near the hotel, apart from a crumbling path through the bushes into the mountains that starts from the left edge of the parking lot. There is only a promenade to Marmaris and a highway to Turunc. The wifi only works in the lobby on the ground floor, where there are only a few chairs and sofas. There is no sauna, only a paid hammam. The assortment of meat dishes is limited. Fried whole fish like sea bream is served only once a week; on other days, it is only in cold appetizers.

Hotel for VERY unpretentious optimists. We came to see Marmaris, the Aegean islands, to swim in the sea, and we got that. Will we come back here? No!! The hotel is indeed, as written in the reviews, Turkish, with animation twice a week (belly dance and something national). Nothing for children. Not for adults who are not Turkish either. Food - don't starve, but again, the choice for children is very small (omelet and scrambled eggs, balls). Cleaning is so-so, I wiped the floors myself (it wasn't hard for me), towels were changed once in 2 weeks, bedding never, the alcohol is decent. Advice: use the safe with caution, ours turned out to be opened, 1/5 of the money was stolen, we didn't call the police (in a foreign country, without knowing the language - just ruin your vacation), they said at the reception that they would check the cameras, but most likely no one did, they didn't apologize to us, they didn't inform us about the reviewed cameras, but the theft is obvious((((If you go here, it should be no more than a week, then you'll get bored in the evenings.

The hotel made a good impression with its location and level of service. Plus of the hotel - beach, pool with slides, beautiful sea views surrounded by mountains, tasty dishes, despite the limited selection, coffee and tea. Minus - the hotel has quite worn-out rooms, room cleaning is not regular. At least the hotel grounds are regularly cleaned and pleasing to the eye. With a good mood, you can ignore all the hotel's downsides and enjoy a full vacation. Thank you to the hotel staff for their work.
