Our 5-night stay at the Merin Hotel was a complete disappointment. The quality of service, food, drinks, beach, and overall approach of the hotel definitely did not justify the price we paid. We believe this facility is extremely unsuccessful in terms of price-performance ratio.
From the very first day, we experienced serious problems with the quality of the food. The first day there was dried beans and rice. In the following days, the variety of food was both insufficient and quite poor in taste. Some of the dishes tasted spoiled. We observed spoiled taste and smell, especially in products like beans, beets, and pickles. This situation has seriously disturbed us. Instead of enjoying our meals during the holiday, we had to worry about whether our stomachs would get upset.
For five nights in a row, almost constantly, a dish resembling turkey was served. Frankly, we had difficulty understanding what we were eating. The dishes offered were salmon one evening and beef meatballs another, but the quality definitely didn't satisfy us. We found it hard to believe that the meatballs, which were advertised as being made of beef, were actually made of beef. Throughout our vacation, we experienced stomach upset, heartburn, and significant difficulties with eating and drinking.
The drinks were another disappointment. We received a "not available" answer for many of the items on the menu. The quality of the alcoholic beverages was extremely poor. We decided not to drink anything other than gin and tonic, but even that was pretty bad. The taste gave us the feeling that we were drinking rubbing alcohol. The beer also tasted bad and seemed watered down. We had no choice but to make that choice because there were no alternatives.
We also experienced inconsistent and disturbing situations at the bar. Metin Bey's attitude, in particular, seriously disturbed us. When we wanted a second drink, we received an unacceptable response: "The cup needs to win, so we can't give you a second one; you can pay for it later." This approach is absolutely incompatible with customer satisfaction.
In contrast, the service was much better when Mr. Ozan was there. Thanks to simple but important details like putting real lemon in the gin tonic, we were able to get better drinks. However, when we made the same request another time, we were told there were no lemons and were given lemon juice instead, and they consistently tried to prepare syrupy, low-quality drinks. The fact that the service varied so much depending on the staff at the same hotel was also thought-provoking.
The beach area was also bad. The entrance to the sea was rocky and quite difficult. The sun loungers were crammed into a very small space. Moreover, on Saturday we saw an umbrella fall on someone. This situation suggested that the beach area was not adequately secured either. While people want to relax on vacation, we experienced constant discomfort and anxiety here.
One of the things that bothered us the most was being constantly asked to leave positive reviews at the hotel. We observed one person persistently asking guests for positive feedback. We even witnessed people standing over the comments section, checking what people were writing. Therefore, we had serious doubts about how reliable and independently written the positive reviews about the hotel were. In our opinion, this does not accurately reflect the guest experience.
In short, our holiday at Merin Hotel was not a relaxing experience, but a source of regret. We were absolutely dissatisfied with the hotel due to spoiled food, poor quality drinks, problems with bar service, a feeling of insecurity on the beach, and pressure to leave positive reviews.
We are truly sorry that we chose this hotel through ETS Tur. We do not believe this property is a hotel that can be recommended based on its current quality of service. In our experience, Merin Hotel is extremely poor in terms of price-performance ratio. We wouldn't choose this again, and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Avoid this hotel if you can. We had stayed at this hotel when it was a boutique hotel and, had a lovely time. Sadly this time with the new owners and manager things were sadly lacking. Listed as an adult on,y hotel, we were surprised when the owners small daughter was in the dining room and around the pool, screaming most of the time. The hotel was not clean, and at one stage I asked for a brush to clean the rubbish from around our sun beds.
We had to ask for clean sheets and towels for the room, otherwise new linen was not provided.
The food was very sadly poor. I appreciate different tastes, however days when the hotel ran out of eggs for breakfast, to continually offering cold food, day after day.
When we mentioned the cold food, no one spoke English.
One night we noticed the bbq going and felt hopeful that this would at least be warm, sadly to be told this food was for the owners and their family not tourists.
All in all I would not recommend this hotel

Meril Club Hotel, located in the most beautiful spot in Marmaris, is a wonderful and enjoyable accommodation with its beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and entertainment. The staff, manager, and owners welcome and care for their guests in the best possible way. I even witnessed the owner cut his hand while changing a shower stall; I wish him a speedy recovery and thank you for everything.
