I've stayed at the Navy Hotel every year from around 2015. Sometimes, when funds allowed, twice a year. I've always stayed in the new block - which i believe is 'B' block. The rooms are bright, with lots of wardrobe space and very comfortable beds. Bathrooms are adequate, the showers are a little on the small side - but then again i am on the larger side, so its a case of perspective. I've never encountered a problem with hot water - always been hot for me at any time of the day/evening. The fridge always works, and cools the essential bottle of water ;) Cleaners have always been every day when ive stayed, with new bedding & towels every couple of days at the most, sometimes (high season) every day.
Balcony is wide enough for me to sit on and have a drink in the evenings after a shower - and dry my beach gear out overnight. Best views for me are in the rooms ending 6, 7, or 8 as they face in the opposite direction of the bar, onto the neighbouring property and gardens.
There is a lift to all floors (in both buildings) which is always a blessing when i return to my room at night, shoes in hand and ready to flop.
The Navy Garden bar is a lovely place to sit and just while the day away. Chairs & tables both dining type and comfy sofa type. With great staff who speak excellent English and are always ready to help with any issues you might have. Aykon & Ibo are there all day as well as through the night, and always check if you would like anything when they come around the pool to collect glasses etc. Yes, the prices tend to be a little higher here - but there IS a menu, so you can check before you order. Then you cant complain, can you? My tip - pay for your bar bill every evening. that way when you're sober in the morning you wont have regret .... (joke)
The pool is really lovely - there are more sunbeds around now, which have all been upgraded, and there are also chairs with tables if you prefer that. Its a bonus too that the pool is walk-in, meaning no nasty 'diver' steps. There is also an area set just back from the pool if you prefer it a little quieter, with sofa type seating.
All the staff i have met there - new and old - are truly lovely. The desk staff are great no matter what time of the day or night it is. The cleaners are polite, and always say hello when i see them. The breakfast staff are always there to help, and clear away your used plates etc efficiently.
Breakfasts are your typical Turkish selection, fruits and salads, cheese, meats, olives. Also a selection of English accompaniments - beans, hard boiled eggs. Turkish menemen is lovely. They also have a separate omelet chef, who will do you any type of omelet you ask for, as well as fried and scrambled. Also loads and loads of fresh bread with a toaster and wide selection of jams and honey or chocolate spread. Tea and coffee is opposite the bread area, and there are also juices.
Mr Menderez the owner is a lovely gentleman, who proved himself to be when, one year i couldn't get in at the Navy and stayed down the road at the Emilia. He found this out when my Dad told him, and said I should have gone to see him - that there would always be a room available - and invited me to have breakfast there with my family for the duration of my holiday FREE OF CHARGE. Not many hotels i can think of where that would happen.
Location is AMAZING, literally 3 minutes in any direction to either the sea, the shops or the restaurants. And a taxi rank right outside if you are brave enough to be going to Marmaris and don't want to use the dolmus.
All in all, I would fully recommend the Navy to anybody. I've travelled there with family and solo many times. I feel safe there - and there's a lot to be said for that as a solo traveler.
One last thing - if you are fancying trips anywhere within driving distance, ask Mr Menderez - he will organise a minibus for you - very reasonably priced. Last year My Parents and two other couples went to Datca for the day, and the driver doubled as a guide for them as well. They said it was a lovely way to spend a day!
