I really hope my review is translated for the owners as they are an absolutely lovely family and would do anything for you - but they need to decide who they want to stay. Apartments - lovely and spacious with new furniture (sofa beds/beds etc) however the paint job left a lot to be desired. Varnish all over the floors and just generally slap-dash. By possibly updating the bathroom (new mirrors etc) and with a bit of TLC, they'd be spot on. The Salhan offer either 1 + 1 (one bedroom plus sofa beds) or 2 + 1 (2 bedrooms plus sofa beds) yet both rooms in the 2 bed could easily take 2 single beds meaning a family of four wouldn't have to use the lounge area to sleep in. Missing a trick there I feel. A general overhaul on the doors would be good too as none of them closed properly (few lock-ins on the bathroom door!) Location - just on the edge of Ovacik - easy walking distance to Hisaronu and other places to visit. It is on a main road however that didn't bother us. Lots of great restaurants on the doorstep. Outside facilities - beautiful pool, brand new sun loungers, clean bar area etc. The grounds were truly stunning with well tended plants, flowers and herbs. New Owners - I believe they've just taken over the Salhan in the last few months so I'm hoping this review will give them opportunity to address some things prior to next season. Bedding/Cleaning - we were visited once in the 12 day stay and that was because I asked for clean bedding/towels. I swept the floor everyday myself (no big problem!) but again, I'm not sure the Europeans would accept this. I think we may have been the longest duration there. I emptied bins and the toilet bin (no toilet roll down the loo in Turkey) and again, I'm not that bothered but I do know how the English market would generally respond to this. We unfortunately had food poisoning (not through the Salhan) so were confined to the apartment for three days and my husband bleached the bathroom and kitchen to prevent further illness. Again, I'm sure if I'd asked they would've come but I suppose my expectations were that a clean would happen every other day. Cafe/Bar/Restaurant - these were never open. The Salhan has all these facilities however we were never offered a drink or the chance to eat there. I'm not sure if they thought we didn't want to eat there but we would've jumped at the chance - but nothing was open! Always closed and in darkness. So we spent all of our holiday money elsewhere which again is a shame for them. Our last day coincided with the beginning of Turkish Ramadan; we would've loved the opportunity to dine with people for this. Unfortunately there were no English speaking staff so it was a lost opportunity on both sides. It maybe that they thought we preferred keeping ourselves to ourselves. Music at the pool - same CD played 24/7 until the other half begged for them to turn it off! Mosquitoes - apparently a bumper year for mozzies and we were feasted on until I bought a plug in thingie...definitely a worthwhile investment. So, it sounds like a disaster but it wasn't - these are lovely people (which I've found with most Turkish people) and they were willing (I think!) to help. The Salhan would be great for a bunch of people who wanted to make it their base, then go off exploring, or for a large group of people providing they sort out the cafe/bar side of things.

Firstly I would like to thank Mass, Ronaldo and all their family for a great welcome and making our holiday a special one. It has been a long time since we have had our holiday at the salhan, this will always be a very special place for us. Forget your 5* hotels and ignore the bad reviews. These guys will bend over backwards to help and make your stay as best they can. Some people expect far too much for a bargin holiday. Yes it does need a face lift but it's the people that make it a special place. Thank you again guys and hopefully we will be back next year 😘
