Delmon Palace Hotel

One of the worst hotels that I have ever visited. Imagine that you walk to your room and see more than 50 cockroaches on your bed. shocking and disgusting. I reported to the reception and their reaction was more horrible. They decided to change room after a long argument with them. One other horrible issue was that the hotel was accommodating lots of sex workers to pretend that they were normal guests. They were brought from other country to work for the hotel and get free room. I just wonder why they still have their licence.

In 40 years of travelling and having stayed in 100's of hotels worldwide ranging from 2* right up to 5* I can truthfully say this is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in hands down. Some of the staff were very friendly and some of them were downright rude but it was the rooms that were unacceptable. Thankfully we stayed only 2 nights. The rooms were dirty and damp and lacked even the most basic facilities. The first room we stayed in had black mould growing everywhere and as an asthmatic that can be hazardous. The carpet was filthy, nothing in the room looked like it had been polished ever, there was thick dust on the skirting boards and the bed was damp. There was a kettle but no tea, coffee or milk to go with it. The door to the cabinet that housed the fridge was hanging off its hinges. We were given one towel between 2 of us and had to ask 4 times before another one was brought up. To make matters worse there were 3 night clubs in the hotel and music thumping until 2am. We complained so they changed our room to one with a balcony. To be honest it wasn't much better than the other one but at least the bed wasn't damp. The real shame is that at one point this hotel has been really nice but its been allowed to deteriorate to such a point its perhaps beyond repair. It could certainly do with a good clean but i doubt it would measure up to 3 stars even with that. It shouldn't have a star rating at all. If health and safety inspected it i'm sure it would be condemned. We went up to the pool on the roof hoping to enjoy a few drinks in the poolside bar. No such luck. The stairs up to the pool had been carpeted and the carpet was threadbare and ripped. Again if you weren't careful you could have tripped over the carpet. The bar was shut. There were no beds by the pool.
