Days Belfast

Spent 2 nights at this hotel with my friend and our children to visit the sights of Belfast. If you are staying here get a front facing room and don't leave your belongings in the locker room. Whilst there the local kids were entertaining themselves by burning tyres on the yard bordering the back of the hotel. Obviously this is out of the hotels control but if you want to open your window it's a problem. Emergency services turned up but didn't stop them. The hotel offered a room swap but it was late so I declined and just closed my window. On our last day we put our bags in the storage room as had an evening flight. The hotel has the usual signs that claim no responsibility for belongings, however they lock the room, monitor via CCTV and give you a ticket in exchange when you drop off. Returning to collect staff just open the door and 'guests' have free rein to collect their own bags from the room. My bag had been taken when I returned to collect it and the hotel explained that they couldn't identify who had taken it. When I challenged the fact the manager didn't appear to be trying very hard to locate my bag, he told me he didn't like my attitude. I claimed on my insurance but lost out financially as the excess is high and they require receipts for everything. My child also lost his favourite cuddly toy, which has travelled everywhere with him. The hotel haven't offered anything as resolution.

Very impressed with this hotel. Location was great for exploring, facilities excellent, service excellent, all staff very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Lauren on the Reception desk who is an asset to your hotel. Lauren couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Belfast.

This is really quite shabby hotel with rude and inadequate service. They have been overbooked and understaffed (I sympathise with that but honestly - I’m paying for vacation and not for solving capacity issues). I have asked an additional blanket and it was a quest with a barely a result. They put you on hold, never come back and speak rudely. Never again. Do not recommend if service is important to you.
