Dukes at Queens Boutique Hotel

A lovely refurbished hotel with really helpful staff. Spent 3 night here recently and was not disappointed . Situated a few minutes from Botanic Station , this gem is ideal for visiting The Botanic Gardens , Ulster Museum and Queens University . It was only a short walk onto the city centre as well . Our room was spotless with a huge , comfortable bed and a large bathroom . The bathroom had a walk in shower and a bath . Towels and toiletries were changed everyday. Although we were in a busy area , we never heard a sound and slept like logs . Breakfast was served in the bar area. There was a buffet with all the usual , cheese, ham , yogurt , cereal and orange juice . The Ulster Fry was prepared to order and was very tasty . I didn't realise that fried soda bread was part of this . The bar was very busy in the evening with food especially from 5 to 7 . Overall . we were very impressed and will return .

My husband and I had booked to stay in Dukes for the August Bank Holiday weekend on the Sunday night. Booking.com contacted us in mid June to advise Dukes had cancelled our booking. We were not provided with any explanation by the hotel. I would never book this hotel again as I would have no faith in this hotel actually honouring our booking.

The hotel cancelled without an explanation as to why, if I could score less than 1 I would. We will never use again for accommodation or dining. Disgraceful way to deal with guests, reading other reviews it seems this is becoming common practice.
