Argyll Hotel

The room was an average one and the bath was good. The problem we had was that our room was directly on the main drag and we could hear all the trucks and other traffic. Breakfast was not anything special, low end of average.

Location 10 out of 10. Visas product 10 out of 10. Our room 211 was nice, large and with a view normally to die for. Unfortunately the scaffolding outside obstructed the view of the loch, not the hotels falt. The mattress is old, nosiy and seen better days, which is counter intuitive to thier industry, short term savings leads to this type of review. Dinner was fine, very small portions, but when when you don't have an opertunity to give feedback direct to the waiter on either course, thats spoils the experience, especially when a service e charge is added to bill before you can gauge the service provided. You do get an option at the end to take it off, which we did. This lyes squarely with the hotel chain and training, nothing more and easily rectified. Finally and one of my most important parts of the stay was breakfast. I requested SOFT POCHED EGGS , I got hard poached eggs, I could of asked again for a replacement, but time was tight. So, either poor communication or they just don't care. I'll leave that to the reader to decide. Best Wester have a jewel here that is not being utilised to its full potential. The reviews back that up. Training, attention to detail and staff who care can make this product really good. I hope sombody in management reads this and can act sooner than later. Luckily for this hotel, its location will always bring in the customer.

Lovely location next to Loch Fyne.The room was spacious with comfortable bed&the staff were very friendly.good selection of food for breakfast&nice conservatory to sit in.good value for money
