Well located on the main street in Oban and within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and attractions (except perhaps McCaig's Tower). The twin room, facing the car park at the back, was quiet and clean and the beds were comfortable. the rooms at the front do not have a better view as they only look out to the shops and houses over the road. Nice flat screen TV and modern bathroom with the shower over the bath. Too bad the adjoining steakhouse has been closed. The staff were friendly and courteous and the breakfasts plentiful. No lift to the bedrooms could cause difficulty for those with walking difficulties. Very quiet in the bar in the evenings and we only returned to the hotel when we were ready for bed. The hotel has been sold and will be under new management within the month.

A nights stay prior to a ferry to Mull. Easy to find and with probably just enough car parking. A great location for enjoying the harbour and its attractions and also for a quick transfer on to the ferry terminal. The rear entrance from the car park is indicative of a no nonsense approach at the hotel; which means you go past the kitchen and laundry holding area; the main bar and reception area are spacious and clean. The room was fine, if you just want to rest your head, but a little pricey for what it was. Breakfast a little let down by overcooked poached eggs.
