Tennyson House Hotel

Had a comfortable break for 3 nights. Beds were comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. Rooms were a little rundown and other guests were noisy. The staff member used to serve breakfast was very pleasant and chatty, thus making the occasion enjoyable.

Our arrival rather coloured our impression. We had to ring the bell --understandable--the door was opened by a gentleman who's English was limited to say the least. No smile, no welcome. I had to ask if he was expecting us. Was he the owner--yes. The room was adequate, but nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. All clean. The redeeming feature was the breakfast and the guy serving it. Excellent. He was attentive without being pushy. Would we go back---it's good value, but somewhat unwelcoming. Doubtful.

Stayed for one night, clean and comfortable hotel, very friendly staff, especially the breakfast guy. Bed comfortable, bathroom bijou, only problem was the busy road and it was hot, so sleep difficult. Breakfast was very nice and all in all a pleasant stay. Good wifi and parking.
