Donnington Grove Hotel & Country Club

Met here for a small family gathering. Impressive house and grounds with golf course, fishing. Had a meal in the restaurant which was reasonably priced for a 3 course meal (£30) although menu choice was fairly limited. Room was hot and lacked air conditioning, made do with a fan. Clean room and bathroom, but bathroom could do with a freshen up. Overall a nice place to stay overnight.

We asked to check in early and reception didnt even ask for our booking name before saing we couldnt check in early. When we did check in reception didnt even know the directions to our room. There was no air-conditioning in the room, only desk fans. The room was 34° at 6pm and therefore very unsafe for our children to sleep in, so we had to leave. When I checked out, reception staff didnt care to ask why we were leaving so quickly. Would not recommend staying here

Stayed one night before visit to Highclere castle. Hotel spacious room had all we needed, beds comfortable. Grounds are stunning. Dinner and breakfast really great.
