A gem of a coaching in a great location. Comfortable chalet style rooms, boutique decor and big, comfortable beds. The bar & restaurant were excellent with very good food and super service. All the staff were great but a special mention for Max, one of the management team I believe. His attention to detail and stylish manner were akin to Michelin Star expectations. Well done and thank you.

I am sad to be writing this as the place looked lovely prior to booking. But, this place really is NOT dog friendly. We booked direct, a king room as we have 2 dogs, the room was tiny. So I asked for a bigger room, they upgraded us to a deluxe king, which was smaller!! Wooden floors everywhere, only 1 dog bed provided to fit a Chihuahua. Luckily we always take our own. All outdoor eating areas were covered with a white chalky gravel, so dirty shoes and dirty dogs! Made to feel a nuisance on our last night, by Summer, when we asked to eat away from other guests so our dogs wouldn't bark. She was then moody all evening with us - on my husband's birthday! Had breakfast on 1 morning out of the 3 it was dry and overcooked. Then on the final morning someone switched on the emergency lighting in our room at 8.30am (check out is 11am) so we couldn't sleep in - nice way to get your departing guests out early!!! All in all not great. Would not stay again. Also no complimentary drink as promised if you book direct!!

What a wonderful find! We wanted to stay in the English countryside, near Bombay Distillery, Highclere Castle and other charming possibilities. The Inn was a warm inviting place with a gracious staff. Breakfast was included with the stay and our second evening we made dinner reservations. The chicken and leek pie was better than delicious but the Passionfruit Martini… Oh My!!
