Ye Olde Red Lion

A great detour on the drive back to London! Staff were welcome and friendly, with great food. Healthy portions and the roast had really good sides! Definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back soon.

What a lovely country pub! A proper traditional spot with locals at the bar and a great atmosphere. We popped in at lunchtime, loved the look of the menu, and decided straight away to come back in the evening. There’s a brilliant choice of classic pub dishes — exactly what you want from a place like this. The staff were so friendly, took our order at the table, and did a check‑back too, which always makes such a difference. My husband had the pie and chips, and I went for the stroganoff — both absolutely lovely. We’ll definitely be returning whenever we’re in the area again. Pubs like this are getting harder to find … proper pubs serving proper food. Highly recommend!

I was asked to move tables to accommodate a child to be able to watch the football. When I refused, I was told they were the landlord and the child came in every week. I love a community pub, but the law states that anyone under the age of 15 should be supervised.!!
