Bull Inn

Cruising on the Thames we had a choice of venues in Sonning but from a quick look at the options chose The Bull Inn and what a good choice that was! We visited twice. Once for dinner with new found friends and then a few days later for lunch. Dinner was great. Great food and excellent service especially from a lovely Brisbane chap whose name I am sorry to say we can’t recall with any certainty. But thank you all the same. Lunch was a delight. Outside this time sitting under the hanging baskets. Service was attentive but not overpowering and we had the added fun of watching the staff and crew doing a photo shoot for the Christmas events. A roaring fire going flat out while it was 30+ degrees outside.

Annually a group of retired colleague's enjoy a 'walk on the water' instead of the land. 1 of the 'old boys' has a splendid motor launch moored at Twyford and we enjoy a day on the Thames with a riverside stop. This year we stopped at the Bull in Sonning for lunch. Excellent location, food and most importantly great beer. Staff were really friendly and so were the locals at the bar. I would love to have a pub like that close to where I live but sadly not, just a Harvester!!! Overall a great day on the water with great friends, food and beer.

Slow service famous for fish n chips had no fish n chips, just poor all round, would not return
