Outstanding customer service! Samir at the front desk was exceptionally helpful. He handled all of our questions with an amazing attitude and professional manner. He provided us with all the necessary information and gave us some truly valuable advice for our stay. A true asset to the team!

The hotel is always clean, well presented and professional, and the staff are consistently polite and helpful in person. The rooms are well decorated and well maintained, which is what you would expect for the price. The pool is good and the changing rooms are clean, although they do get very warm. The gym is simply too small for a hotel of this size, so it’s often difficult to get on the equipment. Parking is also very expensive. My biggest disappointment is that I don’t really see any meaningful benefit from being a Hilton Gold or Diamond member. The hotel is good overall, but the loyalty status doesn’t seem to add much to the experience.

I was really disappointed by my experience at the Hilton Reading. What upset me the most was the way the staff treated children in the swimming pool. My children, aged 7 and 8, were simply enjoying themselves in the water, but a male member of staff from reception, who appeared to be Eastern European, repeatedly interrupted us to say that children were not allowed to splash. While I understand that hotels need to enforce pool rules for everyone’s safety and comfort, the way this was handled felt unnecessary and excessive. The repeated interruptions took away from what should have been a relaxing family experience and made the children feel as though they had done something wrong when they were simply playing appropriately for their age. I expect staff to approach families with courtesy and common sense, especially when dealing with young children. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling unwelcome, and it has certainly affected my opinion of the hotel.
