The Bull Inn

Everything that is good about stepping into a traditional English pub and feeling the history of the building. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day and enjoyed first class hospitality with a smile as everything we needed was quickly brought to us. My best fish and chips of the year followed by an outstanding chocolate brownie. Also fascinating to talk about the Four in a bed competition which I know you cannot win without an excellent sausage for breakfast We will return

We booked our stay here because we loved it so much when we saw it featured in the September 2025 Four In A Bed TV series on Channel 4. Sadly we were very disappointed for the following reasons. 1) Missing curtain in room that should have screened sleeping area from emergency exit light in entrance hall area so had a very bad night's sleep. 2) Minibar is empty now! 3) No complementary wines now! 4) Much reduced tea tray now, just tea and sugars etc & 2 biscof biscuits. 5) Breakfast is pre-order night before now, rather than selected at breakfast table. 6) No complimentary cereals, fruit or juices at breakfast now. 7) Just tea bag in cup at breakfast now, no fancy teapot etc. We had an evening meal as well expecting the 'gastro-pub' experience it's owners had mentioned on the TV programme, but all that was on offer on our visit was just ordinary pub grub. All in all a very disappointing stay and experience. Seems like all the nice/ extra touches were just added to win that TV competition!

We had Sunday lunch and very nice it was too. Very pleasant staff serving also.
