First impressions from outside are fine, but that's where the positives end. I paid £480 for 2 nights in a "deluxe double" room and it was genuinely one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in decades of travelling.
Noise:
There's no real soundproofing, and with no air conditioning you're forced to keep the windows open. The area around the hotel is plagued by homeless people fighting and screaming into the early hours — I was on the 4th floor and it was still extremely loud. Barely slept either night.
Room condition:
The whole hotel feels like it hasn't been refreshed in decades. No carpet, just cold bare flooring. No decoration or pictures on the walls. No curtains, just flimsy blinds. The TV must be 20 years old — not smart, and only picks up a handful of freeview channels. The bed frame even has old RJ45 sockets built into the switches. The mattress shifts around on the base as you move.
Storage:
There were no drawers of any kind. Even travelling alone, I couldn't work out where to put my clothes and belongings — for a room marketed as a "deluxe double," this is unacceptable.
Safety concerns:
The smoke alarm above the bed gave no indication it was even working, which was genuinely worrying. The bathroom was small, dated, and had no shower mat, making the floor slippery and dangerous when wet.
The bathroom door was already secured by tissue paper. Clearly a hotel solution to proper maintenance.
Overall, this is a very tired property trading on a good location. I've travelled extensively for years and rarely encountered a hotel this poorly maintained. I actually felt embarrassed thinking of international visitors coming to such a great part of London and ending up here and paying these prices.
Would not recommend to Human or to Animal, and won't be returning.

No housekeeping for 3 nights unless you wanted to pay £25. Dirty carpet and towels. No tea/coffee. Had to pay £10 per bag in left luggage on arrival and departure. Lifts always busy. Had to ask at reception for toilet rolls and towels. So disappointed as we have stayed here many times. Apparently it is under new owners!!
