I stayed here whilst paying a visit to Windsor races , the service was impeccable and the the grounds and rooms were 100 % . I would recommend this hotel with great views of the Thames .such a relaxing time and attentive service bravo , we will definitely come back . I have been all over the world but this place will always be in my heart ❤️

We stayed here for a baby shower weekend with a group of friends. The hotel itself is lovely, the building is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and the surroundings are very nice. Unfortunately, the service let the whole experience down. For Saturday lunch, the mum-to-be had booked a table for 12 people at 1:00 pm at the River House. 2 of us arrived about 30 minutes early to put a few small surprise decorations on the table. The table wasn't even set up yet, and it only had 8 chairs. We had to ask 3different members of staff, 3 separate times, before the extra chairs were brought over. Each time, we were simply told that the booking was for 1:00 pm. Surely it's not difficult to appreciate that if someone arrives a little early, especially for a surprise celebration, they may need a few minutes to prepare before the guest of honour arrives. The same lack of flexibility happened at dinner. We asked if 2 tables could be moved together so all 12 of us could sit as one group (all 12 of us were staying at the hotel!). We were told this wasn't possible, despite tables throughout the garden, including those by the river, being moved around regularly. Overall, while the hotel itself is attractive, the customer service was disappointing. The staff came across as inexperienced, unhelpful and, at times, quite rude. Hospitality is about creating a welcoming experience, especially for special occasions, and sadly this hotel fell well short of that. For the price, I expected much better service. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a venue that can help make a special celebration feel special.

Beautiful on the outside, let down by the details — 3/5 We stayed here as a birthday treat and left feeling like it could have been so much more than it was. Check-in set the tone a bit, honestly. We arrived at 3:40 — forty minutes after check-in was supposed to open — and our room still wasn't ready. There wasn't much of an apology, just a vague suggestion to head to the bar. We ended up sitting outside instead, which was actually lovely, really peaceful overlooking the river. But when we went back to ask again there was barely any communication, a bit of awkward standing around, and then suddenly our room was ready. It just didn't feel like a warm welcome, especially for a special occasion. The room itself was genuinely gorgeous though — really spacious, beautifully styled, huge bed. No complaints there at all. The spa is where things fell apart for me, because that was a big part of why I booked. It was dated and, honestly, not very clean. Nowhere near the standard of the rest of the hotel. The in-room handbook didn't help either — no info on spa practicalities, no opening times for the restaurant. We only found out the River House closed at 6pm when we called to book, by which point we had less than an hour. The real kicker though was the next morning. We'd planned to have lunch in the grounds — it was my birthday, the whole point was to enjoy the space gardens and spa — and we were told the entire hotel had been bought out by a corporate event. No lunch, no access. If that had been mentioned at the point of booking I simply wouldn't have booked. It felt like a pretty significant thing to not flag to guests. For £309 for one room - I would have expected more. The grounds are beautiful, it's brilliantly dog friendly, and the rooms are a real treat. But the customer service needs work, the spa needs serious attention (even just a good regular clean!), and guests deserve to know when their stay is going to be significantly affected by a private event.
