The Five Arrows Hotel

Junior Suite was nice. In rear courtyard so nice and quiet. Breakfast great and staff were attentive and pleasant. The tickets to the Manor were included in the price and that's a must see. Will return.

Fantastic couple of nights stay at this wonderful boutique hotel. The staff were friendly and worked really hard especially the manageress who seemed to at work morning noon and night. Food was great at dinner and breakfast. Staying at the hotel gives you free admission to the gardens at Waddedden Manor which are well worth a visit. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will visit again.

We recently stayed at the hotel and dined in its 2 AA Rosette bar and restaurant. While there were several positive aspects, our overall experience was mixed. The staff throughout the hotel were consistently professional, friendly, and attentive, and this was one of the strongest elements of our stay. Our room was adequate in size, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom, equipped with both bath and shower, offered good water pressure. Unfortunately, the temperature in the room was uncomfortably high. Although fans were provided, they were not effective, and we were required to keep the window open throughout the night. This resulted in significant traffic noise and a poor night’s sleep. Additionally, the carpets in the room required stretching, and the hallway décor appeared somewhat tired and in need of refreshment. Breakfast did not meet expectations. While the beans and egg were served hot, the remainder of the breakfast was cold. We were not offered toast and had to request it; it arrived only after the meal had been eaten. We were also not offered any sauces, and by the time we considered asking again, it would no longer have been timely. Our experience in the restaurant the previous evening was also disappointing. My mushroom pakora starter was very dry, and both my slow‑cooked beef and my husband’s guinea fowl were considerably saltier than we are accustomed to. Dessert was enjoyable, but the overall meal did not meet the standard we expected from a 2 AA Rosette establishment. We raised our concerns at the time, but no alternative dish or adjustment to the bill was offered, despite my main course being too salty to eat. We also noted that the advertised smart‑casual dress code was not being observed by several diners, which detracted from the intended atmosphere. While the professionalism and courtesy of the staff were commendable, the combination of issues with the room, breakfast, and restaurant meant that our stay did not fully meet expectations.
