Great location for our 2 night break. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Fantastic value for money in a lovely village of Stilton. This hotel is just off the motorway junction easy to find with car parking.

I was nearly put off but the previous review, but I decided to chance it. Glad I did. Excellent facilities in the room, including a kitchenette. Comfortable bed. Everything working and everything clean. All the extra touches that are missing in so many places - a soap rack in the shower, enough light over the bathroom mirror to shave by, an iron, a duvet long enough to tuck in, a desk big enough to write at, etc, etc. Helpful staff. I was concerned it might be a bit noisy, being right on the road, but there was little traffic. Most of the other guests seemed to be tradespeople. They went to bed early, so there was no noise at night, and while they rose early they were all considerate of others. Stilton is a nice village. There are several good pubs nearby (I recommend the 1741), and there is no noise from the M1 even though it is conveniently close. If there is one minor gripe - I didn't know it was possible to get TVs that small - but then I guess the guests don't want to spend much time watching. Probably not ideal for a family holiday (no guest facilities outside the room and no outside space usable for anything except parking), but for a business trip or an overnight stop strongly recommended - I would certainly go back.

Such a shame as we liked this hotel it had themed rooms when we went for the last time 3 years ago. We have relatives at Folkesworth and had on this occasion a party at Yaxley so it is a good location for us, The beds were clean and that's about it, l dropped something down the back of the bed when l pulled the bed out oh dear - the muck and dust was worrying, the window sills were the same. The little kitchen had all oddments of crockery and cutlery, The bathroom - well the toilet roll holder was the wrong way round and every time l used the loo l knocked the loo roll off on the last night it actually went into the pan! The shower is very tired - tiles grubby and the bottom of the shower coming away so the doors were difficult for me to close. No rails for me to hold on to either, The bath mat was frayed and tatty and the towels were stained, thin and had holes in them. When l gave them to the lady the following morning she said we get lots of builders here, took them saying she was going to throw them away - l don't know if builders like those sorts of towels but the amount we pay for these rooms l don't expect that.
