The Hillcrest Hotel

The dirtiest room I have ever stayed in . Looks like the sheets hadn’t been changed . Disgusting hellhole . Mattress was like one you would find on a tip. You might have a better night on the pavement . Literally shocked at how dreadful it is. Minor points , bar didn’t have tonic water

The room was tiny, grotty and rundown.. Not very clean. Honestly slept on top of the bed full clothed and couldn't wait to get out of there. Very unpleasant stay and would not recommend. Also appears to be used as temporary accommodation and would be nice if this information was given up front so people can make informed choices when booking.

Booked to stay in the Hillcrest on 3rd and 4th September for my wedding, as I am originally from Widnes, and it was close to the ceremony in Runcorn, we had made the booking in November 25, after seeing lots of bad reviews for the hotel about immigrants, dirty rooms and poor staff, I was very concerned as I had told all my family and friends to book for the same hotel, we arrived on the Thursday, easy check in and very pleasant staff, room was easy to find and the room was very clean and tidy, there was coffee/tea making facilities and even bottles of water in the room on arrival, we had family drinks in the bar in the evening, unfortunately it was 11pm last orders, which would have been better if it had been later as we were residents, but no big deal, I never had breakfast as I went out for a walk and got my breakfast at a local cafe Irelands which was lovely, other family members had breakfast in the hotel and said it was fine, in all the time I was there I never seen any immigrants and the staff where lovely and polite, an overall decent stay, well done to tbe Hillcrest...
