What a fabulous hotel and spa. This was the perfect hotel to stay and explore Cornwall. It's centrally located, the hotel itself is gorgeous, the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful and the restaurants on site are fabulous to include the RenMor and the Ugly Butterfly (a Michelin stared restaurant). The spa is amazing for fabulous massages and other specialized treatments. The views are incredible and within walking distance to the beach. I can't think of one thing they could improve upon. As a female traveling solo, safety and comfort are very important to me and I had all of that and then some at this amazing stay.

We stayed at The Headland Hotel while in Newquay for Boardmasters, and it really is the perfect place for parents of "Boardies" to stay. The hotel is incredibly accommodating during the festival weekend, understanding that many teenagers head back to the hotel for showers and a bit of downtime. It's also very dog-friendly, which is a huge bonus.
The hotel itself is large and offers everything you could want. There's a fantastic afternoon tea with stunning sea views, a lovely restaurant called RenMor, where we enjoyed an excellent meal, and the Michelin-starred Ugly Butterfly. We didn't eat at Ugly Butterfly ourselves, but friends who did described it as one of the best dining experiences they've ever had.
Breakfast was included in our room rate and was really very good. The cooked breakfast was excellent, with plenty of continental options available too. There are several other cooked dishes on the menu, but we were more than happy sticking with a traditional full English each morning!
The location is outstanding, and the spa facilities are equally impressive. Whether you're looking for a relaxing weekend of R&R, scenic coastal walks, or want to soak up the atmosphere of the Boardmasters Garden Party (which takes place right next to the hotel during the festival), The Headland is perfectly positioned.
We stayed in a Best Suite, which we were very pleased with. It featured a spacious bathroom, lounge area, comfortable bed, small fridge, and beautiful sea views. While the décor was starting to look a little tired in places (our curtains were slightly threadbare) and the Wi-Fi wasn't particularly strong, neither of these minor issues would stop us from returning.
The only real downside during our stay was that service could be a little slow, both in the bar and occasionally at breakfast. However, this was a small criticism in what was otherwise a wonderful stay.
We will definitely visit again.
