The Metropole

We had a lovely stay at Harbour Hotel Padstow. The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views, and everything in Padstow is within easy reach. Our room was very clean, comfortable and well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the children were made to feel welcome, which made a big difference for us as a family. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and good-quality food. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

We had three rooms for 4 nights and were very impressed and comfortable, despite the heatwave. We arrived, and we had asked for a parking space to be available due to our elderly Mother, nipped into reception and told to move a cone and one of the places was ours. We checked in with two ladies on reception who were both welcoming and friendly. Two of the rooms were not ready, but one was, we were all on the third floor and close by so we could go into the one room and leave our luggage. They were very apologetic. We went up in the lift and were really happy with the harbour view room, the space, the furnishings, and the space. We soon had a phone call to say the tooter two rooms were available and upon collecting the keys we were presented with a free drinks voucher for us all as an apology! We ate in the restaurant the first night and again, the food was excellent along with the service. During our stay we ate Sunday Lunch and have to say one of the best value Sunday Lunches, the quality was excellent, the cauliflower cheese was the best I have had.! Throughout the stay all the staff were friendly helpful and generally interested in conversation. Not the cheapest but you certainly pay for the quality, a very comfortable stay, made good use of the patio for drinks and catch ups in the evening. Highly recommended and would return if back in the area.

We recently spent 5 nights at the Salcombe Harbour Hotel. Nothing too much trouble rooms and service experience excellent. Moved onto the Padstow Harbour house firstly on route realised my email had been compromised with the padstow hotel mailing list then on arrival to our room 107 . The stench in the room awful we complained daily no offer of air fresheners or large fans as we were experiencing a heat wave absolutely no help . Second day in patio area completely dug up with chairs moved to a grass area no cushions or parasols. The stench got worse each day and nothing happened even though we constantly told them the under management agreed and said no other rooms available. You could not leave doors open as a general public access outside. On returning home and complaining to the HH operations team we were basically told except a 2 night back at he hotel or case closed even though they upheld our concerns ! Customer care l am afraid just doesn’t seem to work anymore. The difference between these 2 hotels truly unbelievable and incredibly sad . We should never have left Salcombe because the second part was truly unacceptable and no we dont recommend the Padstow HH
