I stayed at the Claremont for 5 nights as part of a Great Rail Journeys group. My room 219 was at the rear of the hotel. There was no view as the windows were opaque and didn't open very wide. The room was large and comfortable however with a TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a/c. The bathroom/wc also had a small shower cubicle. The food was excellent with plenty of choice particularly at breakfast. The staff were very good, efficient and friendly.

This was my first time at both the Isle of Man and the hotel. For the first five nights we were with a Great Rail tour group and we then tacked on another two nights at the end. Our room was at the back of the hotel. It was small but adequate. The modern bathroom was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner there and the food was excellent on all occasions. My wife has coeliac disease and needs to be gluten-free. The head chef was made aware of this when we arrived and was very understanding. There were many GF options for dinner and my wife was able to enjoy the food like everyone else. The dining room was very airy and looked out onto the promenade. There were lots of comfy seats in the lounge area. I could not speak highly enough about the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Towards the end of our stay, the waiting staff were acknowledging my wife's GF requirement without being prompted! The hotel is only ten minutes' walk from the ferry terminal and less than that to the bus station. The station for the steam train is a little further away. If I were coming back to the Isle of Man would I stay at the Claremont again? Absolutely!
