Carlyon Bay Hotel

Superb hotel with extremely helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Our group has been visiting for 37 years using the golf and snooker facilities as well as enjoying the restaurants and bars. hopefully we can continue for future years.

Very good staff and service, bedroom no fridge and poor shower but overall very good.Came on a golf tuition holiday communication was poor and missed the first day, I am older and disabled and found it to much for me and was exhausted , also only 3 disabled parking bays not enough considering the clients are older, but staff were finding me some were to park.

We have just returned from a two week tour of Somerset and Cornwall to return to some of the places we visited on our honeymoon 50 years ago and to see some places we missed out on and we certainly saved the best to last. On arrival we were greeted with a smile by the charming concierge and the young lady on reception was charming, extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was perfect, large comfortable bed (we both slept well on both nights) and a great bathroom with quality robes, towels and toiletries. Wide selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate and water in the room too. Fabulous Spa with a indoor good swimming pool, bubbling spa bath plus a poolside sauna or steam room. The outdoor pool was superb, heated to a comfortable 25 degrees! Three restaurants to choose from for dinner and we decided to try the Taster Restaurant on the first night. Our server greeted us with a nice smile and quickly showed us to our table, she told us about the menu and drinks ordered. My wife ordered the Kittows braised brisket & blue cheese croquettes and I had the Cornish Crab Cake for starters, both amazing! For mains we decided on the Local Cornish fish pie for my wife and I had The Trio of Cornish sausages both again looked and tasted fantastic. By now I had had enough but my wife ordered the Cinnamon brioche eggy bread, I had to try it and it was superb! In fact the food, service and ambiance was so good, we went back again the second night! Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the bay was perfect, excellent choice of cold or hot dishes plus friendly helpful staff. Overall, it was a perfect stay to end our Golden Wedding tour, would we return, definitely! Added bonus of capturing the Milky Way from the lawn, highly receommended.
