I had a superb stay; I was made to feel very welcome by friendly yet professional staff, the room was clean and comfortable and at an affordable rate. The cooked breakfast was made to order, quickly served and was delicious, it set me up for a good long hike. The guesthouse also included a drying room for clothes and boots, a very welcome addition to accompany Autumn weather in the Lakes. I’d highly recommend The Gables.

Gables B&B very good, rooms clean and ideal, position very good, close to centre of Ambleside and Ambleside main bus stop. Numerous places to go for evening meal within short walking distance. Price reasonable. All staff very pleasant.
