Troutbeck Cottage

The cottage itself is in a lovely place with two good pubs with good food in easy walking distance. The cottage itself had a few issues the sower was unbearable hot and it could not be turned cooler, the parking is horrendous especially when cars park at the top of the driveway you have to knock on doors to get the car moved. Th wheelbarrow is still there as well as the sheet on the front of the house. Apart from that the cottage served us well just a shame these things weren’t put right when other people also mentioned them in comments

We stayed at this lovely B&B last week and on our arrival we received a warm welcome from Sally who showed us to our room. Room had everything you would need and piping hot water for a relaxing bath, Breakfast served from 7 - 9 so convenient for most travellers, and the breakfast was delicious served by Ian with a warm smile. The home made bread was fantastic, we would not hesitate to recommend this charming place with charming hosts! Thank you Sally and Ian for a wonderful stay. Paul and Jackie. x

We stayed at Troutbeck Cottage on our way to Scotland and on our way back. Sally and Ian made us most welcome with a nice cup of tea and Sallys home made short cake which was lovely. The rooms we booked were well maintained and homely with ensuite, We were made to feel at home using the conservatory to sit in and have a cup of tea or if you wanted you could have had a take away and brought it back to eat there. Sally had made a book up of all the pubs and restaurants in the area and how to get to them, also places to visit. After a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed breakfast was served in the conservatory you were asked to choose what you wanted the day before which was not a problem. Wow what a breakfast i had the full English and it was to die for freshly cooked with home made bread for your toast if you wanted continental it was all there including fruit cereals fruit juice it wass the best breakfast i have ever had . This is one B&B I would definately use again if i am ever in cumbria again Thank you Sally and Ian
