Ennerdale Country House

I stopped here on Business in August 2026, and the room was terrable as the Sanifo WC was leaking. I changed my room to a lovely one and the staff were helpfull. Stayed there this week and again the room was very outdated, dirty and again the WC was leaking, there was hair in the bath and mold around the window frame. The food is good and the staff are more than helpfull, but the building is in a terrable shocking state!

The grounds were lovely but the interior of the hotel was quite sad. Our room was dirty, especially the bathroom. The mattress was torn in multiple places. There were obvious areas where repairs were needed. What could be a wonderful charming country house is, instead, a place to be endured. Food was basic but ok.

What a surprisingly fantastic stay here this weekend... the reviews are a bit (lot) harsh ... location great, room clean and comfortable, food great , atmosphere is relaxed , beautifully ciuntry house with loads of character ,dog friendly, 7 year okd friendly , grounds are lovely, 10 mins from lakes in one direction , 10 mins to st bees beach in the other! Cant wait to see it restored, this place is one to watch !!! we will definitely be back ... all if the team are wonderful, polite, helpful bit Rachel and Alana are the above and beyond people ... ignore the reviews ,be immersed in the splendour, see you soon 😊
