Warning to future guests the swimming pool has been filled in and more rooms created. Massive own goal. Won't be back

The place is understaffed but the staff that are there are great, super friendly and helpful. I came here for 3 nights for a hiking holiday, the location is excellent for that. My stay was good apart from the people in my neighbouring room. Diana handled the situation very well. I had to have reception ask my neighbour to turn their tv volume down since it was at full blast and I could hear everything going on from my room, and they didn't do it after I asked them to. They physically intimidated and verbally abused her, slamming the door in her face after she politely asked them to turn it down. After that she got a new room for me which was great.

We’ve visited Windermere on the 9th of October, Lake District is one of our favourite places in the UK. After few hours there, we thought that we will visit Grasmere. What a beautiful village!! Absolutely stunning. We saw the hotel and we thought about staying in. The price wasn’t bad at all (£105 for one night). Plus breakfast included! It was evening when we’ve checked it (after 6pm) and we’ve paid for the room. The room was absolutely amazing and had anything what you can need on your stay. It had a kettle, coffee machine, water. Towels and lovely shower gel and shampoo was provided as well. Absolutely lovely. And also such a big room, even though we’ve only booked a standard one. We will definitely be going back. Only one thing was really odd, Next day upon checking out, the receptionist told us “let me take the payment of you” and she has sounded very surprised and suspicious when we’ve told her that we’ve paid last night. She couldn’t find the confirmation of the payment taken. She did not believe my boyfriend when he showed his bank account and there was a £105 obviously taken out a day before with the hotel name on it. Luckily, after few minutes I’ve found a receipt from the last night when we’ve paid. To be honest, we usually do not keep receipts but this one was just in our bag. However, I don’t know what would have happened if I wouldn’t find the receipt. Obviously we’ve paid for the room and she was able to see it on the bank app. It was a bit weird that she did not believe us.
