Booked this last minute after getting soaking wet walking. No frills but room was very clean and had everything we needed. Hotel is ten minutes walk into town, quiet and in a peaceful street. Beds were comfy and most importantly the showers were hot. This represents great value for money.

We stayed in The Bird House. So well equipped, comfortable and homely. Had everything that we needed and wanted for our stay. Made to feel very welcome with some awesome cake left for us. Fridge had some butter, milk, homemade jam and marmalade for us. The marmalade was awesome, I have to say. Outside seating area catches the sun in the afternoon. Great location for walking to Windermere or down to Bowness. Couldn’t fault anything about here, would love to come back.

cant say enough about how great this place is. As it happened I only met the hosts, Steve and Victoria as I was leaving leaving but everyday I received an email asking how I was getting on and if there was anything they could do. There was a book in the room with all the local walks starting from the guesthouse so i didn't even need to get the car out. It was easy to find parking on the street when I did come back. The room was well stocked with a lovely welcome pack which was especially welcome as I got in late when I first arrived. Would definitely stay here again.
