We had a lovely stay in The Nook. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped accommodation within walking distance of both Windermere and Bowness. We had a great breakfast one morning in the attached guest house, really good food, choice and value, and nice to chat to our hosts. Highly recommend Brambalinos Bistro in Windermere for dinner and had the best scones at The Butcher & The Baker, The Quayside in Bowness was also good with great views. Bus stops on nearby main road take you to Ambleside and Grasmere, we got the North East Explorer ticket one day and hopped on and off the open top bus. Ideal location for visiting the National Trust properties nearby as well as Kendal. Can recommend a cruise on Windermere, the Steam Gondola on Coniston Water and the steam railway. Thank you Andrew and Abigail, we will be back.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Ivythwaite Lodge and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a few nights away in the beautiful Lake District. Andrew and Abigail were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast and home baking was amazing. Home made cake in the room on arrival and home made muffins at breakfast and these were available to take away if you couldn’t fit them in after the lovely breakfast 🙂 We stayed in the Luxury Double room and I wish we could have stayed a few more nights. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a fridge with milk and water provided. The spa bath was also an added bonus. We will definitely return when visiting the Lake District. Perfect location between Bowness and Windermere with easy on street parking.

We stayed at Ivythwait during the easter bank holiday. Simply loved it! The room was so beautiful, spacious and accurately equipped. The hosts Abigail and Andrew were really kind and hospitable. They let us check in early and also welcomed is with complimentary cupcakes in the room. We booked a room with breakfast. The choice of breakfast is amazing and vegetarian/vegan friendly. Everyday we woke up to a freshly cooked breakfast using local ingredients. Would definitely recommend you to stay at Ivythwaite on your next trip to Windermere-Bowness. Also, a piece of advice book directly with them using there website becuase the rates are cheaper whereas third party websites charge you extra 100 quids over the actual price. Thanks Andrew and Abigail.
