Redesdale Arms Hotel

Not the most welcoming reception staff. If you have a dog, they'll put you in a room with poor quality, smelly toilet, filthy desk, limited amenities and a yard covered in weeds. By the way, you share the yard with another 2 rooms so it's not private. For the price you pay, it leaves a lot to be desired.

The newly refurbished Redesdale is bright, cheerful and exceptional. Excellent menu and excellent food, albeit a bit pricey, but worth it. One thing though, my partner is disabled. It was Market Day and there are no Blue Badge spaces in the Car Park at the rear. I had to drop my wife off and find somewhere to park. Hardly ideal. However, this won't deter us from returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Redesdale Arms. I had read some mixed recent reviews about the rooms before arriving, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but our room was a very pleasant surprise. It was spacious, comfortable and had plenty of character. We especially enjoyed sitting by the window in the evening and watching the town as it got dark. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and the room felt much nicer and roomier than I had expected. Our room was warm and so we slept with the windows open. The only downside was people seemed to visit out there after the restaurant closed until about 11pm. Doable, but worth knowing. There was also a musical performance downstairs from our room from about 8-10pm. Some of the music I could make out was good, but also good to be aware of you stay in a Friday night as we did. The location is excellent, right on the High Street in Moreton-in-Marsh and an easy walk from the train station. It was also a perfect starting point for our Cotswolds walking trip. Breakfast was very good. We ordered the Full English and the Vegetarian English. When the vegetarian breakfast first arrived, I was a little disappointed by how it looked, but everything actually tasted quite good and the vegetarian items had very good flavor. There was also a nice selection of individual cereal boxes, yogurt and granola, along with good bread, butter and jam. Upon arrival having glass water bottles and 2 chocolate chip cookies was a nice touch. We enjoyed them. We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay and would happily stay here again.
