The Dog & Partridge Country Inn

We stayed in room 9 of The Dog & Partridge Country Inn during a short visit to Alton Towers with my two children. The room was simple, clean and pleasant enough. Basic, but nicely presented and included most things you’d need for a short stay. I like the fact that they don’t go into your room during your stay unless you specifically request housekeeping. We had our dinner here, which was really tasty and generously sized. My daughter has Coeliac disease and we were both impressed with the gluten free options, both the dinner and breakfast options. David who booked us in was informative, accommodating and welcoming and took the time to make sure everything was okay and chatted to us at meal times. My children loved saying hello to the ducks round the back, next to our room. I’d gladly stay here again if we were in the area. Things to note, not critiquing, just for information purposes - The parking areas at the front doors are very handy but if both you and your neighbour had larger cars, I imagine that would feel like a tight squeeze. The WiFi signal isn’t always the best but is fine for messaging, etc. If you’re looking for peace and quiet then this could very well be a big perk!

We stayed here for a night whilst we visited Alton towers over the weekend. Staff were friendly and explained everything well, you can park outside your room which is really useful. The room was spacious and the beds were really comfy, lots of pillows and thick duvet, bathroom was modern and very clean too. Plenty of options in the continental breakfast and staff were really friendly, would definitely stay here again :)

We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast for one night en route to somewhere else and it was very good! The room was spotless and comfortable. I had the venison stew and it was excellent! Proper home cooked with new potatoes and six different kinds of vegetables! A continental breakfast buffet was included in the price of the meal and there was a lot of choice on that. Cooked breakfasts are extra but not expensive. The landlord and the waitress (Sandy) were very friendly and helpful. A good choice of place to stay.
