My wife, and I booked a two-night stay here starting September 30th. After a 100-mile drive, we were exhausted and just looking forward to a rest. What followed was an absolute nightmare. First impressions of the room were terrible. It smelled strongly of damp, the bathroom was unacceptably dirty, and the furniture was well past its prime. The bed sagged heavily the moment I sat on it, but because we were so tired, we decided to just put up with it rather than complain. That was a huge mistake. At 1:00 a.m., after barely two hours of sleep, the bed frame completely collapsed and shattered into pieces on the floor. I was thrown violently from the mattress and trapped my arm against a nearby unit, leaving it bruised. When checking the wreckage, I noticed that neither the bed nor the mattress carried a "Crib 5" fire safety rating label—a strict legal requirement for all UK hotels and pubs. This isn't just poor quality; it is a massive safety violation. To make matters worse, when we tried to get help at 1:30 a.m., there was absolutely no way to contact any staff in the building. Our only option to stay would have been to dismantle the broken bed frame, clear the debris ourselves, and sleep with the mattress on the floor. Left with a destroyed room and no staff to assist us, we were forced to pack our bags in the middle of the night and drive 100 miles straight back home. I have photographic and video evidence of the dirt, the broken bed, and the missing safety labels, and I am pursuing a full refund. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere safe, clean, and managed.

Overnight stay for work. Bar food stops quite early, had to order a takeaway. Breakfast was cooked to order and very nice. Own car park. Handy location. Good value

Always sit in the garden for a summer drink. Live locally. Start the nite off here before a pub crawl in town.
