Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club

I've given management a week to respond to my email complaint-, so far - tumbleweed. So here goes ... Corridor leading to room 107 hd a musty smell which was amplified when we got into the room, it was overpowering. Room was very, very dated. The fittings had clearly not been changed since at least the 80s. Carpets were worn and coffee stained. Bath had rust on the taps and staining around the seal (See photos). We were meeting family at the hotel. They arrived just after 8pm - to be told that dinner service stopped at 8pm. This was a Friday night! Thankfully we did not book breakfast. We took a peek in the breakfast area the next morning and it was pitiful. Small buffet of unappealing food laid out that wouldn't feed at cat! Our family members used the pool on Saturday morning and had to contend with a rowdy stag party jumping and causing mayhem in the pool. We've stayed at many spa hotels in the UK and abroad. We've never come across one that charges for robes in the room nor has any spa toiletries provided. But Woodbury Spa hotel is a first! We returned to the hotel on Saturday night at 10.30 to find the club bar closed and staff drinking and playing music - unbelievable! The final nail in the coffin was the surly staff serving coffee the club house on Sunday morning. We discussed our issues and showed pictures of the room with reception staff and were advised to email and attach pictures, which we did before we checked out. We we're assured we would get a response from management- surprise, surprise a week later and no reply! Our advice - stay elsewhere!

Very disappointing how standards have slipped. Extremely poor service in the golf pro cafe, lack of basics and poor management response. Paid over the top for balcony overlooking a carpark, £41 for a bottle of white wine, no menus left. Company response admitting negligence but no amends to make up for disappointing stay. Receptionist lovely, massage good, let down in every other aspect.

We booked this hotel specifically based on its locality to Woodbury as we were visiting family. The hotel has a huge car park as it has a golf course onsite so there is lots of parking spaces including several electric chargers. The rooms in the hotel are very spacious and were spotlessly clean, but the rooms including the bathroom were in need of some TLC in places. There is a swimming pool onsite and towels are included for free which is good, we swam on both days that we stayed. There is a gym, spa and health centre but we never used any of these or went to the club house of the golf course which serves food and drink all day. On the morning we were leaving we decided to have the buffet breakfast in the hotel, in my opinion this was very over priced for what it was, fro £16 per person, I would have expected a better choice for breakfast. When we checked out I was a little disappointed that the reception team did not even ask how our stay was and to check if everything was okay, this is something that personally I think should be addressed as the personal touch does mean a lot.
