Alma Lodge Guest House

I stayed here as a solo traveller to watch my team play at Home Park- Location wise for football its great, 10 minute walk. I travelled on the train from Coventry- but off street parking is available. I arrived ahead of schedule and was kindly accepted earlier than check in time to my room. The room(3) was clean and tidy- very typically British B&B- ensuite too- bed slightly on the firm side for my liking- but that's a matter of taste. The host were friendly, welcoming and eager to please. I felt at ease and comfortable. I watched game (we won) and returned to the hotel via the local Wetherspoons(7 minute walk). I slept well for the first night. Breakfast was served as requested. Was tasty, well presented and wholesome. I spent the day in Plymouth by the harbour(Barbican) and Hoe- very nice too!!. Sadly the 2nd night was less comfortable. A group of travelling workmen had booked into 2 adjacent rooms- 5 in total. They were inconsiderate of others. Sleep wasn't possible until the early hours. I did personally challenge them at 1am- but their behaviours continued- if you are reading this and responsible hang your head in shame. I don't hold the hoteliers responsible for their actions, it was a case of bad luck/timing really. I am certain their booking system will be more cautious next time. Overall, this place is worth considering for the football or a relatively cheap layover for families. The family run business deserves consideration. Thanks Jamie

Lovely, friendly family-run BnB. Very clean. Good location for the ferry port. Reasonably priced.

Myself, husband and Son stayed here yesterday as we went to scatter my Dad's ashes. The stay was amazing from start to finish the owners were truly lovely very welcoming and very professional and helpful. The guest house was lovely and clean and extremely comfortable. Check in was smooth and the breakfast was great and plentiful. Thankyou so very much should we be heading to Plymouth or nearby again we will definitely be booking to stay with you again.
