Lydgate House Hotel

A wonderful stay in gorgeous surroundings. This is the second time we stayed at Lydgate House. We asked another couple to join us this time so that we could all enjoy the experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with lovely views. Downstairs there is a large and inviting sitting room at the disposal of guests and the dining room is lovely and light. Breakfast is a treat in the morning and our hosts, John, Sarah and Kelly are warmly welcoming, making sure their guests are able to make the most of their stay. Altogether a delightful experience in the heart of Dartmoor.

It is a very lovingly managed small house in the middle of Dartmoor. The breakfast and dinner are highly recommended. Hiking trails run nearby. Not far away, we were able to observe many Dartmoor ponies.

Couldn't fault it! Very comfortable stay. A warm and friendly welcome from all proprietors. Intimate small hotel adorned with antiques.Lovely food and wine. Appreciated special touches like John bringing us a jug of cold water, as we sat on the hot terrace! Also very beautiful surroundings, with several walks direct from hotel. And interesting guests from all over the world!
