L'Horizon Spa

Do not book Deluxe single rooms with ocean view, simply not worth it, I checked my daughter in yesterday into this miserable little room, barely 8 feet wide x 10 feet long, small veranda with one table and one chair, the management are so mean as to not want the guest inviting a friend in for a drink! The room has a small cantilevered desk which is loose on the wall, if you open a drawer it slides out onto the floor, there are signs of damp, plug sockets are at various angles and some have paint on them. I complained immediately and was asked to the issue with them, heard nothing and went back to enquire, manager had said the same type of room was available tomorrow on the ground floor, what,s the point £2300 for a very very poor room, you can get a full size deluxe room for £2700 for the week. Do not book this deluxe single offer, £150 meal voucher and a bottle of champagne is not worth it for something barely larger than a good sized toilet. Today they have run out of turn down chocolates, forgot to re-stock with cheap biscuits, they used to supply shortbread, I am writing this review because I believe L’Horizon is involved in it,s own form of shrinkflation, also I have offered constructive feedback before and all you get is meaningless twaddle about improving, but it never happens

Fantastic views, good location, friendly staff very clean rooms and facilities

I had reserved an afternoon tea. The staff seemed to be confused. Tea was served quickly, the tiered stand took quite a long time, and the water was forgotten. On the sandwich tier, there was a sandwich with a light filling, a salmon wrap, and two small topped rolls. Overall, far too bread-heavy. The scones were very dry and the salted butter was missing. I booked the tea there because there were so many good reviews. I would not recommend the restaurant—not for British afternoon tea.
