The Sandpiper Guest House

Debbie & Denise were so helpful - they really went above & beyond to make our stay special. Room was immaculately clean, area was quiet & parking no problem. Great base for exploring the area.

A super place to stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the attention to detail was obvious throughout. The breakfasts were superb, with an excellent selection of fresh, high-quality ingredients and plenty of choice to suit all tastes. As well as the traditional cooked breakfast, there were alternatives for those who preferred lighter options, including cereals, yoghurts, and pastries. Everything was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and decorated to a very high standard. The furnishings and décor were stylish and well maintained, creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Combined with the excellent cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the property, it made for a very enjoyable stay.

We were 2 days in Torquay during our tour of southern England. Torquay is really disappointing, but that is separate from this guesthouse. Debbie is a super nice hostess, who makes sure you don't lack anything. As we are used to, the family room is located under the roof. Outside it was very hot for British habits, which made it very hot in the room too. Debbie, however, had a fan ready with the comment that we could feel free to have another one if we had questions. However, if you open the 2 skylights when the sun goes down, the room will refresh in no time. The room itself is very tastefully decorated. There is convenient use of the available space. Nice bathroom. No breakfast buffet this time, but a breakfast to order, where you can indicate on a paper what you want the day before. The breakfast room is also very cozy. At the guesthouse there are a 3 parking spaces. No idea if there is always room when all rooms are in use, but that was not the case with us. After a fifteen minute walk you are at the water. There are also a number of bus stops nearby. Too bad Torquay is completely overrated as a 'pearl of the English Riviera'. This guesthouse deserves a nicer place in the world and so does the hostess.
