Laguna Hotel

I paid £37 for a midweek night. Friendly staff, clean room, comfy bed, warm shower and nice towels. A pool and sauna I didn't get a chance to use. Free but limited parking. Nothing wrong or to complain about. Yes a little dated, but serviceable. Ten minutes walk to the town centre. 20 minutes walk to the beach. Would stay again.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Upon arrival had to wait 5 minutes for Simone to attend the reception desk after punching the ring door bell. Needs a massive uplift, carpets are filthy, tv didn’t work in my room. Towels supplied all had loose ends hanging off. The bedding had stains all over, the doors to the room were still an old style key and could hear everything in the corridors. Sink in the bedroom 💁‍♂️. Lights above the bed hanging off, I could list more….. Would never stay here again. Would say to anyone do not stay here

We booked this B&B last minute because it was cheap, convenient and advertised free onsite parking, so we could enjoy Bournemouth without paying for parking. We weren’t expecting 5-star accommodation: the hotel was tired and dated, the room was far from attractive and the bed was uncomfortable. But we accepted that because we chose it as a cheap, last-minute option. Unfortunately, our car was broken into and belongings stolen. I was heavily pregnant with my 5- and 7-year-old children, making this extremely upsetting. The hotel’s response was worse. They advertise 24-hour CCTV and I counted around six cameras covering the entrance, exit and our parking area, yet we were told some weren’t working. Richard at reception refused to let me speak to management, insisting he could deal with it himself. He said he had checked one camera and could only see our front wheel. He wouldn’t explain which other cameras worked or what had been checked, and said further footage would only be reviewed if police requested it. Most concerningly, Richard asked what I had left on display that could have caused the thieves to target us. This was completely inappropriate and felt victim-blaming. I explained I am extremely vigilant and had removed valuables. Another guest had their car broken into that night too. I was also told thefts had happened previously, although I cannot verify this. Our toothbrushes were left outside in the rain. We asked for replacements and were given four, then charged £6. The money isn’t the point — it was the lack of compassion. I don’t blame the hotel for the criminals. I blame them for how they handled it. We felt completely unsupported and will not return. Think carefully before relying on the advertised CCTV/security.
