Charlotte Guest House

Terrible management, the owner Chris is charging the council £1589.56 for single occupancy. The cleanliness is appauling, the rooms are supposed to be cleaned once a week- only bedding is changed- they do not hoover or mop, wipe down surfaces it is disgusting. You have no washing machine facilities and are not allowed to use the hoover etc. This is the worst accommodation I have ever witnessed. I am putting in a lengthy complaint to the council with images and environmental services from Dorset Council and a welfare officer should attend for human rights and council laws. Worst establishment, the owner Chris has several properties in Weymouth and I can only imagine they are all just as bad. Shame on you! With the council all being "friends" down here the owner is getting away with modern day slavery and breach or han rights acts.

Through the pandemic me and my partner were forced into emergency housing for over 6 months, we started off here and it all started lovely, really thought we got lucky but soon did it change. Me and my partner are mentally ill and needed support, the owner got told that on multiple occasions. And they never understood they always made my Boyfriend seem like he was in the wrong for feeling depressed. If you made the tiny mistake they would kick you out we got threatened 3 times over silly things. The owner zorah was also talking about us to other house mates and then they soon turned on us and didn’t want us there any more. Every week we got moved to different rooms with all of our belonging we were the only ones ever to be moved that quickly and that much in one stay. We had a curfew, we where not allowed back in if we had a drink if we did (along side others that live there) we would be the only one who would get a warning. They kicked us out because my partner had an episode (due to split personality and autism) he broke a mirror by accident we told them straight away and was toke all we had to do was pay it back. Any way £50 later for a Mirror I could have brought brand new for £20 max they still kicked us out for it. Then after we had left then then proceeded to try and blame us for a wardrobe door that was broken (already broken and reported when we moved in ) and also a fan we didn’t even have a fan in that room. And the room they shoved is in at the end was a stupidly small loft room and my partner couldn’t even stand up. Anyway over all horrid place, rude owners and never would visit (but I guess when you live there for a long period of time you see the true colours of people )

Although it's not on the seafront the premises is central for everything in the area and not far from the railway station. We arrived at time specified to find nobody at the premises but after a couple of phone calls we were told someone would be there in approx ten minutes as they were on the school run. They duly arrived and advised us on parking and showed us to our room, which was a family room although there was only me and my wife. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. It was at the front of the building and at night could be a bit noisy for some people as the road opposite is very busy. But we both slept quite well during our two night stay. The small dining area was like the rest of the inside very clean and the breakfast was also very good. The staff were very obliging and friendly. The slight downside is the parking issue as street parking permits are issued to residents which only leaves limited space. We parked outside one evening which required the staff moving vehicles to get in and out when you arrive and leave. We parked in the car park virtually opposite for the second night as we wanted to get off early the next day. It cost £10 for the period we parked. All in all you get great value at Charlotte Guest house and previous reviews stating the immediate area is run down are quite harsh. It matches an a lot of seaside place lately in that not a lot of money is being ploughed into the area. But it most certainly is not in a bad position
