After a poor start the stay was very good, however the start left a bad taste. We arrived and found there was no parking available on-site. My wife is disabled and even the allocated spaces were taken up by guests, for a function taking place, without displaying any right to park? We were sent to park in a lane nearby and I had to escort my wife across the property to the reception. No one seemed to want to rectify our dilemma. However, there after the room was really nice, comfortable and airy. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service and subsequently breakfast. I feel that the issue with a function and the parking should have been highlighted upon booking or spaces reserved for those guests attending.

Our second stay and it was just as lovely. This time we stayed in the new house in one of the garden rooms with a private hot tub. What a treat! The room was lovely and spacious, the bed wide and very comfortable, and the big bathroom has both a shower and a bath. Everything was spotless and the hand soap and other toiletries smell great. The staff are friendly and helpful and reflect the individual care taken by an independent boutique hotel. The location is quiet, green and leafy with free onsite parking and very relaxing gardens, but it’s also easy to get into either the local area or into the city centre if looking for something more lively.

Attended my daughters wedding here at the end of August. It was a beautiful magical couple of days. What a beautiful place this is and if you are lucky enough to spend anytime in the secret garden it is a must. The care and kindness shown by the staff is second to none. A special thank you to Emily L,Alys and Luke who all went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy 😊
