White Hart Hotel

Two of us visiting Dumfries. We had separate ensuite rooms. Mine was at the back of the hotel which was very quiet. Yes the furniture might be dated and the carpets were very old but not threadbare. It is really a public House with rooms that has a bar with entertainment on some nights. My room was clean, large, and the bed was extremely big and comfortable. The shower was one of the best I have had. A large tv set. Tea making facilities with hot chocolate and biscuits. Wi-Fi and security were excellent. Then there was the breakfast. Full Scottish cooked to order using the best ingredients and served piping hot by Susan. It is one of the best value places to stay in Dumfries with a fantastic central location. It is not the Ritz but does everything and more that it says on the tin. Has to be a 5 star review from me therefore and I would definitely stay again. Many thanks to Susan and her husband.

Positives Lady in charge nice and provided good breakfast. Negatives Tired decor. Threadbare stair carpet. Mold in shower and noisy plumbing. Worst thing was 3am pub license with loud music and even louder customers. Sleep impossible. Had we known about license would never have booked. Worst stay ever.

Paid £82 for one night inc breakfast , good points , breakfast was good and bed was actually comfortable, minus was the decor , it was like being back in the 1970s , got woke up with the beer garden noise after midnight , not to mention the toilet system that was making huge noise when you flushed all night through , sorry , will never ever ever ever be back
