The Bladnoch Inn

We were camping in the Isle of Whithorn and headed out for the day for some sightseeing and lunch/dinner. Around 3.30pm we started to look for somewhere to go for food and we were dismayed that there was very little choice as most places in the area of Newton Stewart close between 2.30pm- 5.00pm. I came across the Bladnoch and called them to ask if they do food and spoke to a lovely Irish guy who confirmed food started at 4.30pm but we could come along before that and he would accommodate us. We arrived around 4.15pm and was serrved by a lovely girl (didn't get her name) who was very welcoming. We had a lovely lunch in the sunshine, the service was first class and the food was delicious.....they made our fussy eating daughter and very plain cheese sandwich and chips! We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

We popped in for dinner with our dog and loved it. Very friendly staff, beautifully cozy inside, outstanding food (lasagne was best I’ve had in years) and selection of drinks. Our dog treated very well with biscuits too. Thoroughly recommend 👌🏼🐾

What a brilliant find this place was, an old fashioned, almost English style pub, next to a river with with plenty of atmosphere and caring staff.
