Forresters Hotel and Restaurant

I stayed at the Forresters on a Monday. Later in the evening the music from the bar below the rooms was at full volume. There was singing, shouting and screaming. It did not stop until nearly 1:00 am. Do not stay here if you want a good night’s sleep.

Room was good but sheet would not stay on bed. No service after first night so had to ask for more milk and coffee. Acceptably noisily on Sunday night as England football in World Cup. Monday night music playing until 11:30pm then shouting and engines raving outside until midnight. No breakfast and no evening meals on Sunday and Monday, but hotel across the road do excellent meals

We had a couple of great meals in the bar: chicken provencal and chicken fricasee. Both were of generous size and came with a choice of chips or rice. There was a relaxed atmosphere in the bar where we eat. I think there is a more formal restaurant there. We went on a Wednesday night and did not have to book. I think last orders for bar meals is 19:30.
