This is the second time staying at Homelands, our first was a couple of years ago when we attended s wedding nearby. This time, we stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Garden Room again which is lovely and private. Glenda and Daniele are wonderful hosts, you can tell they really care about what they do. The breakfast is superb, great choice and executed really well. Our evening meal was also excellent, the best lasagne I’ve ever had! Homelands is in a great location, just a short walk down to all of the coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and other shops on the high street as well as the Castle. Plenty of on street parking directly outside the front. We’ll be sad to leave but hope to return again in the future.

Cozy and nicely furnished guesthouse. Very good and varied breakfast Upon request, the hosts prepared an excellent dinner. The hosts supported me a lot in solving a problem. They are very friendly and helpful. I would love to come back anytime.

I spent three months working in the Barnard Castle area and was delighted to find Homelands Guest House where I stayed during that time. The hosts Glenda and Daniele were very friendly and couldn’t have been more welcoming. All rooms are spotless, comfortable and quiet, making it a great place to come back to after work. The breakfasts were good and the Italian evening meals a real highlight of the stay. There is parking directly outside the property and local shops and county walks only a stroll away. A great location, fantastic hospitality, and somewhere I'd happily stay again. Highly recommended.
